The app films, edits and exports videos on your iPhone. By default nothing leaves your device. Two optional features use our servers: AI suggestions and cloud backup. Both require you to sign in with Apple and to start them deliberately.
Your clips, projects, edits and exported videos are stored in the app's private storage on your iPhone. They are not included in iCloud or computer backups of the app. We do not run analytics or advertising SDKs, and we do not track you across apps or websites.
If you sign in with Apple we store the stable identifier Apple gives us for your account and a one-way hash of the email Apple shares, so we can recognise you and help with support. We never see your Apple password.
When you start a suggestion, the app makes reduced-size previews of the clips you selected and uploads only those previews, never your originals, to temporary processing storage. Our servers analyse the previews and send a model from Anthropic a description of the moments (and, when a recipe is about speech, a transcript) to propose which moments fit the story. The result is returned to your phone, where you review and accept or discard it. Previews and all derived data are deleted when you finish reviewing, if you cancel or the job fails, and in any case within 24 hours. Anthropic's own data handling is governed by its terms; we do not use your content to train models.
If you buy backup storage and turn backup on for a project, the original clips and the project file are stored in a private bucket at Cloudflare R2 so you can restore them on another iPhone signed in to the same account. You can delete a backup at any time. If your storage plan lapses, uploads stop immediately and you keep download and delete access for 30 days.
Subscriptions are processed by Apple. We receive purchase records from Apple to know what you are entitled to; we never receive payment details.
Deleting a project or the app removes its footage from your phone. In the app, Settings › Account › Delete account signs you out everywhere, stops any suggestion in progress, and deletes cloud backups and account data after 7 days (signing in again within 7 days cancels the deletion). Billing records required by law are kept. Subscriptions must be cancelled separately in your Apple account settings.
